Tory Taber

New York, USA

I am a visual storyteller specializing in children’s illustration. The textures, colors, seasons, and history of my home in upstate New York are woven into my work. A mushroom, an acorn cap, a sliver of moon in the winter – ordinary things inspire my ideas of magical worlds all around us. I work in traditional media – gouache, acrylic, oil – with some digital effects.

When I am not teaching design at SUNY Plattsburgh or enjoying my other job as a librarian you can find me in my studio at the edge of the woods with my rescue dogs, Luna and Ruth.
