I’m Bella Gazoli, an illustrator working in children’s books from my home in Chester county, Pennsylvania. Growing up in the woodsy southeast, I was surrounded by the natural world everywhere I turned. Creeks and farmland were the backdrops of my childhood art and the gateways to my itch for learning. History, science, and literature followed me home from school and blended permanently with my creative craft. Today, I enjoy telling stories that engage with heartfelt moments, education, and the outdoors.

I earned my Illustration BFA in 2025 at Ringling College of Art and Design and exhibited my debut author-illustrated book. Since then, I’ve set my sails for the literature and commercial art world. Through my work, I point young eyes towards small discoveries and big curiosities. My personal process succeeds when a simple picture turns into a captivating narrative that lets a reader’s imagination roam freely.

I mainly reach for digital tools for my work, but a piece is never complete without a traditional texture or gritty brushstroke. Gouache paint and dry ink also occasionally find their way into my illustrations. When not making art, I can be found in a museum, thrift shop, or taking a walk- likely spent hunting for a new idea.
