Art is the way I let my heart beat outside my body. As most kids, long before I knew how to write or read, I would draw. When I wanted to say “I love you” I would draw a giant portrait of me and my mom, when I felt down, I would create shapes and lines that told what my words couldn't. My heart and my art have always been intertwined and they grow stronger together, it is impossible to separate them. That union is shown in the stories I love to illustrate, I am most drawn to sweet and tender narratives, stories that explore the special bond between family members or the warmth that can be found on friendships, I also love tales that celebrate the joy of growing up and the wonder of the world through the eyes of a child. When I am illustrating I try to truly evoque these charming emotions, I take my time to connect with the stories, I let myself find their core and I keep that present at all times, so that my pencil can create a bridge to other hearts.
