Many of my childhood summers were spent in nature with my family. We had nothing but our small car, a tent and all the food we needed. We also had some books to keep ourselves entertained—beautiful fairy tale books full of big colourful illustrations. It was magical to be surrounded by endless forests as I read stories from Hans Christian Andersen or The Brothers Grimm. Those stories powerfully awakened my imagination to look for fairies under rocks and flowers, build castles out of twigs and wonder at the sight of fireflies at night. All while drawing endlessly the stories I would imagine in my head.

Those days have continued to inspire my work. I love to create stories about preserving and protecting nature, being proud of where you come from and being kind to yourself and others. I hope my work will provide children with the feeling of being seen, comforted, and seeing the world a bit differently.
